Parent run committees manage many school wide programs at Stevenson PACT.Â
These programs are co-curricular, which means they complement and add to the educational curriculum at the school. These programs are not just "fun extras," but they are actually central to the progressive education philosophy of the school.
A cooking lesson is not just a way to learn about tasty food: The carefully designed lessons integrate math, history, and social emotional learning. Students apply multiplication and fractions to adjust recipes, and then learn about historical meals like those cooked by the Ohlone people and early Americans.
Arts Focus is a school wide intensive art program that combines all age groups into a single class. Students experience a huge range of artistic forms, from ceramics to painting to digital media. By combining age groups, they younger students can get inspiration from observing the older students, and the older students learn leadership skills.
We have lots of committees! So many that they don't all have pages yet. Check back soon to learn about the committees below.
